The Stakeholder Engagement Network

Engaging those invested in improving the lives of everyone affected by dementia and neurodegeneration.

Our Stakeholder Engagement Network is facilitated by Professor Jan Oyebode. It has a diverse membership incorporating:

  • representatives from condition-specific organisations, such as the Huntington’s Disease Association and Parkinson’s UK
  • representatives from organisations working to support unpaid carers
  • NHS commissioners and people who design and manage health and social care services
  • representatives from local authorities
  • a range of NHS professionals including Clinical Psychologists, care co-ordinators, specialist nurses and many more
  • professionals working to support people affected by neurodegenerative conditions who are employed by local authorities or charities
  • researchers specialising in neurodegenerative conditions
  • researchers in related fields such as health economics, or related fields such as social work or social care
  • people working to reduce inequalities in health and social care
  • people from across the NIHR infrastructure, such as those from NIHR Applied Research Collaborations (ARCs) with shared interests

This list is non-exhaustive! We continue to grow our networks as we learn more about areas of best practice and reveal gaps in evidence. If you are interested in joining the Stakeholder Engagement Network, please contact our Stakeholder Engagement and Impact Manager, Emily Adams at e.adams4@exeter.ac.uk

Our stakeholders are already involved with our current projects, connecting us to researchers and outputs of interest, and consulting with us on areas where we have identified gaps in knowledge.
