David is a Professor of Movement Disorder Neurology and Honorary Consultant Neurologist. His role within DeNPRU Exeter involves imparting his vast knowledge in understanding, diagnosing, and treating neurodegenerative conditions. David contributes to influencing policy and guidelines in the management of cognitive impairment associated with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease.
David has an international reputation for research in dementia associated with Parkinson’s. He is an Emeritus NIHR Senior Investigator, Chair of the Northern Health Science Alliance Board and has been Director of the NHS-E/NIHR Academic Health Science Centre, Newcastle Health Innovation Partners since April 2020.
